In the 1993 film based on Edith Wharton's novel "The Age of Innocence", the Philadelphia Academy of Music was used for the New York Academy of Music, where Newland Archer first sees Countess Ellen Olenska during a performance of Faust. The pair meet at the opera again in a later scene.
